Also known as gastrectomy and bariatric surgery, gastric sleeve surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures done in order to help weight loss. The difference is that the anatomical replacement is made much smaller compared to the real stomach, for reducing the food intake capacity of the person. Since it is put there permanently, the person benefits from it by being unable to eat too much food.
